My Basic Drugstore Makeup Essentials For Beginners

1. Foundation
Function: To hide uneven tone or discolouration.
Suggestion: Boujois Healthy Mix Serum. Review here

A compact powder. I'm using Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One. Around RM20.

Pros:

• SPF 32 so I don't need to wear sunblock or suncreen
• Light to medium coverage, for daily use
• Can reduce my dark circles and redness

Cons:

• Because I have dry skin, I need to really moisturize my skin first, before using

2. Concealer

Function:Cover up dark circles, blemishes, parut jerawat.
Suggestion: Maybelline Pure Concealer Mineral in shade 01
Where: Any Watsons or Guardian
Price: RM18.90 (but normally ada discount)

Pros:

• Easy to blend
• Enough to hide my dark circles and blemishes
• Doesn't dry my skin
• Small, easy for travelling

Cons:

• Only have two shades, and the light shade is not light enough

3. Blusher

Function: Add colour to your cheeks, so that your face won't look pucat, berseri seri sikit
Suggestion: Wet n wild Mega Glo Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink
Price: Around RM25
Where: Sasa outlet (You can find the list of Wet n Wild store here.)

Pros:

• Can be use as a highlighter, blusher and bronzer! 
• Can work individually or blended together.
• I usually use the pale shimmery colour as my highlighter
• Can be use as eyeshadow too. Sometimes I apply the champagne bronze colour on my eyelids.
• Easy for travelling

Cons:

• The lid is screw top, susah nak pulas lepastu bukak. Lagi senang kalau flip open je.

However, I LOVE THIS! 4 in one. Highlighter, blusher, bronzer and eyeshadow.

4. Mascara

Function: Open up and define your eyes, making you look more awake
Suggestion: Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara
Price: RM15.90
Where: Selected Watsons

Pros:

• Nice volume and length
• I love the pink packaging
• No clumping 
• Cheap!
• Easy to remove

Cons:

• Not a waterproof mascara

5. Eyeliner Pencil



Function: Make your eyes pop
Suggestion: Silky Girl Long Wearing Eyeliner in Brown
Price: Around RM20

Pros:

• Easy to apply even for beginner and glides on smoothly!
• Retractable, meaning tak perlu leceh pakai sharpener
• Natural finishing

6. Brow pencil

Function: Define your brows
Suggestion: Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in 020 Date With Ash-ton
Price: Around RM17
Where: Selected Guardian

Pros:

• Easy to control
• Have spoolie at the other end! So you can brush your brows. LOVE

Cons:

• Not retractable. Leceh nak sharp kasi tajam.

7. Lipstick

1. Essence
I love Essence because it is super cheap, mostly memang under RM20. And high quality. I did an Essence haul post here .

2. Catrice

3. Silky Girl
This brand, I think almost everyone pernah try. I love their long wearing eyeliner in brown because it's easy to use and glides smoothly! Their lipstick pun best and cheap.

This is one of the famous drugstore brand in Malaysia. I love their Hypercurl Mascara, Hypersharp Eyeliner and their Pure Mineral Concealer!

I just discovered this brand last year, and their Megalast lipstick is always on my wish list because people have been saying that the lipstick is dupe for MAC lipstick. (Which is true!) and murah.

Hi.

Selama ni malas pakai foundation sebab rasa tak perlu, malas, leceh, bedak pun okay and macam macam lah. So saja lah nak try Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum ni.(Sebab harga affordable) Review pun banyak yang bagus. Meh sini nak try sikit.

Packaging
Slim glass bottle. Tapi takpe campak campak pun tak pecah tapi jangan lah campak suka hati pulak. Senang nak bawa travel. Dia ada pump so tekan je pump nanti keluar. Tak payah nak cedok ke apa ke.

Scent
Disebabkan bahan utama dia buah, bau dia pun macam buah, best! Fruity-scent gituu.

Texture

Light texture, untuk light coverage je. Tak pekat, kalau letak dekat tangan, nanti dia macam mengalir sikit.

Ha nampak tak, macam nak mengalir sikit. Yang atas tu yang dah blended.

Coverage & Finish

Light/sheer coverage, okay lah nak conceal redness and dark circle sikit sikit. Dewy finishing and nampak natural dekat kulit, tak nampak macam bercapuk ha makeup tu. Boleh feeling flawless jap.

After. (Foundation je, tak pakai benda lain lagi)

Overall

Rating dekat MakeupAlley is quite high, 4.1/5. (By the way, MakeupAlley ni website best kalau nak tengok review makeups, ada banyak review and boleh compare banyak products!)

Pros:

• Best untuk dry skin (like me) sebab dia tak bercapuk sangat. Kalau dah moisturize kulit, and pakai primer, better.
• Natural coverage
• For daily use
• Yellow undertone, sesuai lah untuk kulit orang Melayu ni
• Affordable

Cons:

• Tak long lasting. Around 5-6 hours je.
• Light coverage, means kalau ada parut ke dark undereye, kena pakai concealer
• I got breakouts! Lepas pakai nanti bila remove, naik merah merah tapi dia cepat hilang so okay takpe, dimaafkan.

My rating: 4.5/5!

My 5 favourite daily lipsticks under RM30!

Hi! As a student, of course I'd like to find affordable makeups, especially lipsticks! So here are my five favourite daily lipsticks, under RM30!

1) Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty (RM13.90)

I've blogged about it here. The colour is very natural to the lips, not too pink, not too nude. The finishing is creamy tapi takdelah sampai melekit and really moisturizing, however it is not really pigmented so kena apply dua tiga lapis, but I looooove the colour! The packaging is also sturdy. Tak nampak murah!

Looks a bit glossy, because it is creamy. You can get it at any Watsons that carries Essence. I bought mine at Watsons Jusco Cheras Selatan for only RM13.65 (sebab diskaun hehehe), Watsons je tau, Guardian takde.

2) NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose (RM19)

Because it is also creamy, it is very moisturizing. Its a bit pinkish to compare with the Essence's one, but it still looks natural for daily use. I don't really like the smell, but it doesn't lingers after you apply it, so okay lah.

You can get it at Sephora (rasanya ada lagi, sebab dah lama dah beli, among my first ever lipstick hehehe)

3) Catrice's Ultimate Colour Lipstick in 020 Maroon (RM21.90)

I love the packaging, rasa mahal and penutup dia ketat, susah nak terbuka bila campak dalam bag. It is pigmented, beautiful shade, and the smell is sooo nice, however because it is creamy, it bleeds out of the lips, senang terkeluar dari landasan bibir haha so, wearing lip liner is a must.

The colour is very very natural for my lips. You can get it at any Guardian that carries Catrice. I got mine at One Utama for only RM19++ sebab diskaun hehe. Guardian je tau, Watsons takde.

4) Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Bare It All. (RM24)

I have this love-hate relationship with this lipstick. I hate the packaging, bila pegang memang rasa murah, penutup dia ya rabbi senang terbuka, that is why there are stains on the cap, habis kotor my makeup bag. However, the finishing is matte, so pigmented, so beautiful, and so cheap. I really love how the lipstick appears on my lips. But the packaging, and the smell, urghhh!

This lipstick is also the dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy. almost the same shade, but of course, way cheaper. If you don't want to fork out RM74 for MAC Velvet Teddy, buy this one! I bought mine from twitter for only RM18 hehe but you can get it at SaSa for around RM24. It used to be RM22.90 tapi dah naik harga. Or you can find them online for only around RM16-RM18. Yes.

5) NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm (RM29)

I think everyone owns at least one NYX SMLC. My favourite is Stockholm. I love the color, natural on my lips, not too nude, not too pink, it's like soft peach. It's creamy, however it gives matte finishing on your lips. I love the smell, it's like vanilla!

I love the finishing of this lipstick. You can get it at Sephora. However, the lipstick is always out of stock at Sephora. Dah nak habis dah, cepatlah restock please Sephora!

Semua benda sumbat dalam bag, padanlah berat!

Backpack ni beli dekat H&M Bukit Bintang tahun 2013 and pakai setiap hari, pastu bila kotor, sental dia, ha dah berapa kali sental dah ni, dah nak lunyai! 

Makeup bag and purse.

Two pencil cases. Satu untuk letak basic supplies, satu lagi untuk other supplies.

Ni pencil case untuk basic stationeries. Pen, pensil semua. Sticker untuk calculator tu beli dekat Mr DIY. Rupa dia dah buruk sebab tambal sticker tu since 2012. 

Pencil case pink ni beli from Mr. DIY, RM1.90 je. Untuk letak highlighters dan lain lain.

My planner. Ni wajib! Setiap tahun kena ada planner!

Lastly, my study planner and notebooks! Ada dua je notebook sebab ada dua je subjek semester ni. That's all!

Resepi Ayam Padprik Simple

Potong ayam kecik kecik.

Goreng ayam sampai masak. Pastu angkat.

Hiris bawang merah, 4 ulas bawang putih, serai, halia.

Tumis bahan bahan hiris tadi dalam bekas yang sama goreng ayam. Tumis sampai naik bau.

Masukkan dua-tiga sudu cili boh. 

Masukkan gula, sebab taknak bagi pedas sangat cili tu hehehe #KelantanInMe

Kacau kacau sampai cili masak pastu masukkan ayam.

Potong sayur! Sukahati nak masukkan mushroom ke, carrot ke, suka hati. Taknak pun takpe.

Masukkan sayur.

Masukkan daun limau purut, barulah nama dia ayam padprik. Kalau tak masukkan limau purut, jadi ayam masak merah serai. Kalau tak masuk serai, jadi ayam masak merah. Pastu ayam masak merah tu kalau kurangkan cili boh then masukkan kicap, jadilah ayam masak kicap. Basic dia lebih kurang je. #Tips

Tambah asam jawa nak bagi masam sikit, sos cili ke, tomato ke, oyster sauce ke ha sukahati ikut taste sendiri.

Masukkan garam and perencah sesedap rasa.

K siap dah ayam padprik! Dah pi cuba masak!

Fuego Troika Sky Dining Review

16 October 2015 hari tu birthday suami yang ke 23 (Dah lebih tiga bulan baru nak blog zzzzz hahaha) so I decided nak pergi tempat romantik sikit. Acah acah buat surprise lah. Dia kena book dulu sebelum nak pergi, book dekat website je. Lepastu special request, nak duduk tepi railing (sebab nak view cantikk!). Dia ada dua session, 6.30pm and 8.30pm. I choose pukul 6.30pm sebab nak tengok sunset.

View dia antek ngaaaaat. Rasa nak duduk sini forever hadap view ni.

Fuego ni dekat tingkat 23, dekat bangunan The Troika, Tower B. Ada banyak lagi restaurant dekat Troika Skydining ni, Strato, Claret, Cantaloupe dengan Fuego. Fuego ni best sebab dia outdoor so view lagi cantik.

Lighting gelap kemain tau, tak nampak makanan. Ni Soft Shell Crab as Nachos, RM35. Belakang tu lupa dah apa tapi beef lah.

Yang ni PALING SEDAP. Berries Pavlova, RM35. Rasa nak pergi Fuego lagi semata mata nak makan Pavlova ni je.

Waiter sangat helpful, lepastu dia cakap yang mana ada wine or not, boleh request makanan taknak wine, lepastu serving speed laju jugak, and waiters dia takdehal nak layan ambilkan gambar.
